Life changes bring new adventures

It has been a while since I have posted much of anything. My life has changed so much in the past two years therefore my mindset has changed. I have not been focusing on deal hunting and couponing like I used to, though I will not buy things without a coupon or good sale still. Every penny counts, right?

I had our 2nd son in April of 2014 and our oldest started kindergarten. I also got a part time job at a local bank where I am basically working full time hours. It’s been busy for this family! We have been working on remodeling our house (or something like that) and fixing our credit so we can sell and buy new. My husband also made a new career move in this time. Did I mention that we’ve been busy?

As I have already said; my mindset has changed quite a bit. I think with that, the blog theme will be changing along with it. I don’t want to be writing about deals and coupons and frugal living anymore (even though I am sure that will make it’s way in here often), I want to write about what this title means. “Motherhood isn’t for the weak” and that is the truth, damnit! In the 6 years that I have been a mother I have learned this to be true in more ways than one. And through the mothers I have met along the way the term proves itself again and again. Working moms, stay-at-home moms, homeschooling moms, soccer moms, single moms, head-of-the-house moms, army wife moms, work from home moms, adopted moms, whatever the title may be that you have taken on, it is not for the light hearted. I want to write about motherhood. The beautiful times, the struggles, the “why did I have another kid” moments, the “why am I not having more kids” moments and more. The hair pulling, screaming, temper tantrum, heart tugging, candy bar hiding, “I just want 5 minutes in the bathroom along!” world we call “Motherhood”.

I hope everyone stays interested and likes the new direction. Any topics you want to read about? Let me know!

Renuzit Air Freshener Deal

Renuzit Adjustables are onsale at Family Dollar for 0.88 cents this week. In the 3/3/13 Red Plum there is a Renuzit B2G1 Free coupon that you can add to that deal, making it $1.76 for 3 or 0.57 cents each wyb 3!

Did anyone get the Meijer 10/$10 deal that we posted on this product last week? I did not work for me. My Meijer said that they accept competitor coupons, but it has to be for a dollar amount of a product, not a free product. So that Target B1G1 Free coupon didn’t end up working for me.

“Extreme Couponer” Match-ups and Savings

My friend, Courtany, agreed to give me some help with the website. She is my go-to deal finder! This girl is always saving money and posting pictures of her FREE shopping trips. And since I just dread having to go through and posting match-ups because I am more of a writer who coupons than a couponer who writes, Courtany will be starting to help out by posting the best deal match-ups for a few different stores every week.

We probably won’t be posting every single store right off the bat. Baby steps! This week we have a few of the best deals for stores like Walgreens and Meijer. I may be able to get you the best deals for Dollar Stores this week as well.

I am hoping that together, Courtany and I can help everyone with their couponing. Along with this and more ideas we have, couponing should begin to become easier for anyone starting out.

Please, welcome Courtany to my site as my Extreme Couponer. Hopefully this new series of postings helps everyone out and their will be more awesome new changes made in our future. If you have any suggestions or ideas on how this blog could be more helpful for goals to live more frugal, please feel free to contact me with all suggestions.

This is a picture of Courtany’s Stockpile. Told you! She knows her stuff!

New year; New outlooks

_MG_8181 Edited JPG

I have never been apart of Twitter personally or with my blog before. It didn’t really interest me and I didn’t think that it was a big thing for others either. It turns out that I’m wrong…!

There are people on Twitter than I had imagined and after doing some research on this social networking site, it turns out that it is a great way to promote a business or website.

So, I am happy to announce that Motherhood Isnt For The Weak is finally “tweeting” with the rest of the world.

Follow me; @Mhoodisnt4Weak so you can have another way to stay updated on my posts, free samples, coupons, and all things parenting and frugal living.

Thank you for continuing to support me in all of my virtual forms!

Save on Formula: If I only knew then what I know now.

I believe I have mentioned before that if you sign up on formula brand websites, you have the chance of receiving samples and coupons for the products.

Now, in the past I hadn’t received anything very ‘post worthy.’ Recently I have received a pack of trial size Enfamil formula with coupons. Also a whole can of Similac formula and a whole can of Similac Sensitive formula. Along with 4 $5.00/1 coupons! When small cans or pre-mixed formula goes on sale, I can get it for free or for just a few cents with those coupons. When Brody was a baby, we paid close to $25.00 for the can of regular Similac and they sent me a ‘sample’ of the same size.

Getting free samples and deals like this makes me wish I would have known about couponing, deal hunting, and free samples years ago. Getting surprises like this in the mail would have helped make things much easier with a newborn on an even tighter budget than we have now.

The samples don’t expire until late 2013-2015. I’m going to hang on to my samples for a while. If I don’t end up using/needing them a few months before they expire, I donate them to our local Women’s Center.

If you haven’t signed up for these sites yet, do so now to start saving for your baby or help others save for their’s. Head over to Similac, Enfamil, and Good Start to sign up. Also keep an eye out for Walmart or Sam’s Club free sample formula that I will post every time I see they are available.

Have you already signed up for these offers or plan to sign up for them? What are you going to do with your coupons and samples, hang on to them, give them to someone, or donate them?
